I have had my blog for about half a year now!
So for that, here's a picture of my not-so-cute cactus who pricked me one morning when I was rushing to get ready for school.

13/11/13
I've discovered a few things in the past week or so.
- I strongly dislike exams
- Shark week is very stressful/gross/sore
- I miss the Coldplay concert more than ever and it's killing me!
- I love cuddles
- Captain Phillip is a very sad movie and if you cry easily at movies then I suggest bringing tissues or a cute guy who will cuddle you and make everything better
- It's weird how your friends with someone and you never realise how much they will mean to you after awhile
- I love the Harry Potter soundtrack
- There's only like 3 more weeks of school for the year! I just have to bullshit my way through school for a little longer
- My hair does not like me when I need it to
- I cannot wait till Christmas/new years/birthday
- There are so many things I want to say to people but I don't know how
- This has been the shittiest year of my life.
Amen.

:)
Despite having horrible exams every day, I still feel extremely happy right now.
I mean of course the spanish exam I had today was a disaster and I wrote "Puedo ir al bano" for most of the questions (it means May i please go to the bathroom?) but for some reason i'm having rushes of happiness and I love it!
I just hope it won't go away in a hurry.

Panick Attacks
It's 12:30am and I just had a panic attack which is weird because I usually get them at night, although I did have one last night too...
Atleast now I know what tends to trigger them. Exams. Well that's how they start but they turn out to be more than that once I start panicking and thinking about other things.
It's always the same things; school, fears, appearance, death, weight, time management and in the end I just feel like i'm going crazy. Which as you can imagine, is not fun.
I'm sorry if this is slightly disturbing or unsettling to read but I find typing this is the only way to keep myself calm.
I've decided to start the day again. I'm going to have goals and motives.

A Better Life
“push yourself to get up before the rest of the world - start with 7am, then 6am, then 5:30am. go to the nearest hill with a big coat and a scarf and watch the sun rise. 2. push yourself to fall asleep earlier - start with 11pm, then 10pm, then 9pm. wake up in the morning feeling re-energized and comfortable. 3. erase processed food from your diet. start with no lollies, chips, biscuits, then erase pasta, rice, cereal, then bread. use the rule that if a child couldn’t identify what was in it, you don’t eat it. 4. get into the habit of cooking yourself a beautiful breakfast. fry tomatoes and mushrooms in real butter and garlic, fry an egg, slice up a fresh avocado and squirt way too much lemon on it. sit and eat it and do nothing else. 5. stretch. start by reaching for the sky as hard as you can, then trying to touch your toes. roll your head. stretch your fingers. stretch everything. 6. buy a 1L water bottle. start with pushing yourself to drink the whole thing in a day, then try drinking it twice. 7. buy a beautiful diary and a beautiful black pen. write down everything you do, including dinner dates, appointments, assignments, coffees, what you need to do that day. no detail is too small. 8. strip your bed of your sheets and empty your underwear draw into the washing machine. put a massive scoop of scented fabric softener in there and wash. make your bed in full. 9. organise your room. fold all your clothes (and bag what you don’t want), clean your mirror, your laptop, vacuum the floor. light a beautiful candle. 10. have a luxurious shower with your favourite music playing. wash your hair, scrub your body, brush your teeth. lather your whole body in moisturiser, get familiar with the part between your toes, your inner thighs, the back of your neck. 11. push yourself to go for a walk. take your headphones, go to the beach and walk. smile at strangers walking the other way and be surprised how many smile back. bring your dog and observe the dog’s behaviour. realise you can learn from your dog. 12. message old friends with personal jokes. reminisce. suggest a catch up soon, even if you don’t follow through. push yourself to follow through. 14. think long and hard about what interests you. crime? sex? boarding school? long-forgotten romance etiquette? find a book about it and read it. there is a book about literally everything. 15. become the person you would ideally fall in love with. let cars merge into your lane when driving. pay double for parking tickets and leave a second one in the machine. stick your tongue out at babies. compliment people on their cute clothes. challenge yourself to not ridicule anyone for a whole day. then two. then a week. walk with a straight posture. look people in the eye. ask people about their story. talk to acquaintances so they become friends. 16. lie in the sunshine. daydream about the life you would lead if failure wasn’t a thing. open your eyes. take small steps to make it happen for you. ”

Realised I hadn't posted in quite awhile
Had quite a rough week so this shall be short.
I've found that these have helped:
- Going for a walk in the evening and sitting in a big field while playing your favourite songs outloud
- Sitting in a quiet place, listening to coldplay and lighting candles.
It's just a bad day, not a bad life.

Bitter Sweet
Depression affects 121 million people worldwide. I'm sorry to start this post on such a sad note but I read this somewhere and it kind of blew me away.
I've been trying to put off meaningful posts like this because I'm trying to focus on happier things but that is a really big number and I think the more people know it, the better.
I have had my fair share of bad days this year and I certainly know what it's like to feel 'lonely in a crowded room.' Now i'm not trying to say i'm depressed or anything but I can kind of relate to people who are.
Ah anyway the reason I called the post Bitter Sweet is because I was skyping my best friend the other day and she was telling me about how she's been coping with moving countries.
She said every day after school she writes down all the good things that happened that day in a little book.
She told me a few recent things that she had written, they weren't super amazing things like "Omg this hot guy on the bus asked for my number today!" or "I went on a massive shopping spree and spent $500!".
They were cute things like "I saw an old lady picking up rubbish on the beach" or "_____ said hi to me today"
Stuff like that.
I know this idea is not going to magically help someone's depression but I'm sure it will help and make you realise the little things that weren't terrible that day haha.
I'm going to try start doing this, and if your going through a hard time (or not) then I hope you try it out too :)

A positive post!
On the off-chance that anyone has wondered why I haven't posted in awhile, It is because I have been busy/emotional/tired therefore no blogging for Emily!
A lot of things have been happening and for some reason I haven't blogged about any of it, but to cut it short I've been at school and shit has gone down!
I'm not going to turn this blog into a rant, quite the opposite actually. It shall be... a positive post! Ooo alliteration.
All the things that have gone right today:

All the things that have gone right today:
- I found out I had $2.60 on my card and treated myself to a nice chocolate slice
- I did my make up nicely besides having to go to the bathroom and wipe off a bit of powder as i realised I over-did it a bit...
- Had a very interesting lesson about Drugs & Alcohol
- Finished my drawing that was done in PEN! I know, pretty crazy right? I would link it although I'm not sure it's very blog worthy...
- Had a good ol' DMC
I'd say the only really terrible thing that happened was my friend and I not seeing the hot guy with the amazing eyes after school that we usually fangirl about...

Best day of the year
Today could possible be one of the best days this year. To be honest it's not for any particular reason it's just everything went so well.
- My skin and hair was being nice to me
- I wasn't late for school
- Everyone was being nice to each other
- I only got moved for talking once!
- I understood all the science and maths sheets
- We started learning about drugs & Alcohol (yay)
- Everyone didn't hate each other
- I was happy with my finished drawing for art
- Had fun chats in art class
- Had the most amazing doughnut on the way home
- Finished all my homework with only a bit of confusion
- Skyped my best friend
So all in all it was a good day! x

Welcome to my blog
So it's being a long, hard day and all I want to do is have a blog and since I've read so many cliche Tumblr posts saying follow your dreams etc, that's exactly what I'm doing. Hurray.
I read that back and noticed how unenthusiastic it sounded but i guess i have an excuse considering i'm a 14 year old girl who thinks to much and the only person who understands me has recently moved to Australia.
How could you do this to me Australia? I thought you were a nice country with lots of cute koalas and kangaroos but NO, your a best friend stealer...
So i have decided to call this blog 'Ventilation Page' which sounds a bit deep but really, it's just a place for me to rant or 'vent' as my mother would say. I figured if i just said 'Ranting Page' it would sound a bit whiny. This is where I can speak my mind and just say everything! It calms me down after a long day of being a teenager. So if you calm down by reading about other people's insignificant lives then I suggest you stick around because that is exactly what this is.
I'm not going to even spell check this. That's how much I don't care.
Might just skim over it actually...
Welcome to my blog.
